Beneficiaries Eligibility Requirements
Persons deceased or confirmed missing while performing a special mission A person who died or was confirmed missing because of performing a special mission or related training (including those who were captured in the area to which they were dispatched during the performance of a special mission)
Persons injured while performing a special mission A person who sustained injuries or contracted a disease as a result of performing a special mission or related training, and whose degree of physical disability, as determined by the medical examination conducted by the Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, corresponds to a disability grade under Article 6-4 of the Act on the Honorable Treatment and Support of Persons of Distinguished Service to the State
Person of distinguished service for a special mission A person who has performed a special mission or received training related to it

Spouse
  • Includes those in a de facto marital relationship
  • Excludes any person who, after the death of the person who performed special missions, has been or was in a de facto marital relationship with another person
Children
  • Includes children who are married and children adopted out of the family line
  • The provision for an adopted child applies only to one adopted child in cases where the person who performed special missions has no direct descendants
Parents If a person other than the biological father or mother, such as the spouse of a parent who has cared for or supported the person who performed special missions, exists, the one who primarily cared for or supported the person who performed special missions shall be regarded as the father or mother
